Giving Tuesday – 2016 PMA Christmas Appeal

Dear Friend of the PMA

Thank you for being part of the Polish Museum of America community, and for joining us on Giving Tuesday!

Through your continued support, the PMA endures as an active and vibrant cultural center for Polish ethnicity. This shared accomplishment was formally recognized when the PMA was awarded the Gold Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis in September by Poland’s Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
Thanks to individuals like you, who share our dedication to preserving and promoting Polish and Polish American heritage – the PMA is able to offer diverse and engaging programing and exhibitions, inspiring visitors and researchers from Chicagoland and abroad.
This year, we celebrated Casimir Pulaski Day, commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Chicagoland Observances of Poland’s Christianity, and, for the first time, participated as a visiting site for Open House Chicago. The Mieczyslaw Haiman Rare Documents Archive was renovated, early Chicago Polish settlers were honored through a new permanent exhibit, and a guide to the Archives collections was published. Additionally, the PMA saw substantial increases in daily visitors as well as visits from dignitaries.
All of this – and more, was accomplished thanks to you!

Please print and mail completed form with payment to: PMA 2016 Christmas Appeal, 984 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60642-4101

As we approach the 80th anniversary of the opening of the PMA on January 12, 2017, we look to our shared past to continue in building a strong future together. We hope that you are able to demonstrate your confidence in the PMA once again, and donate to the 2016 Christmas Appeal. Your financial contribution to the general operating fund will ensure the successes of the New Year, which promises to be robust for the PMA community.

On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, Staff, and Volunteers of the PMA, in the spirit of the holidays and with wishes of peace and good cheer for the Christmas season, we remain gratefully yours,
Małgorzata Kot, Managing Director and Richard Owsiany, President
