Happy Volunteer Day!
The annual luncheon honoring the Polish Museum of America volunteers took place on April 19th at the PMA. Museum President Ryszard Owsiany and Managing Director Malgorzata Kot were hosts for the afternoon.
Owsiany and Kot opened the afternoon by welcoming the volunteers and thanking them for all the work they do throughout the year. A toast with champagne was offered to all in attendance. As a token of appreciation, each volunteer was presented with a rose and a small gift. The PMA also welcomed guests and volunteers from the past. At the luncheon the PMA chooses a volunteer of the year. This year two volunteers were honored: Ms. Barbara Jakacka and Ms. Malgorzata Palka. Although we honor all our volunteers, the award is based on individuals who throughout the year made an extraordinary effort to help the PMA
Also honored at the luncheon were special guests: Chairman of the Museum Board and President of the Polish Roman Catholic Union, Joseph A. Drobot, Jr. and his wife Judith Drobot. They have been long time ambassadors of the museum as well as supporters. After the presentation of awards the volunteers were treated to lunch. Entertainment throughout the afternoon was provided by our special musical guest Wlodek Zuterek.
It is worth visiting the Polish Museum of America. It is worth becoming a member or donor of the museum. And it is definitely worthy and satisfying to be a volunteer of PMA. The Polish Museum of America values the help and the commitment our volunteers have to the PMA . Please join our volunteer ranks by visiting the PMA at 984 N. Milwaukee Ave in Chicago.
