Polish Community in Chicago in celebrating the 40th Anniversary of John Paul II Pontificate

On Friday, April 13th, Polish Museum of America, hosted a book promotion by Monika Jablonska “Wind from Heaven: John Paul II: The Poet Who Became Pope”.

Malgorzata Kot Managing Director of the Polish Museum of America opened the event and introduced guests, Father Richard Miłek spoke and gave a blessing; Richard Owsiany, President of the Polish Museum of America, gave the remarks and introduced Consul General Piotr Janicki, then Minister Anna Maria Anders shared some recollections, members of Szkółka Pieśni i Tańca ZPPA (Song and Dance Academy) of Polish Highlanders Alliance of North America performed traditional Polish folk songs and dances from the Tatra Mountains region. Afterwards, Krzysztof Zółtek representing  The John Paul II Foundation in Chicago shared some recollections about the Polish Pope. Monika Jabłońska, the author of the book “Wind from Heaven” gave a lecture about John Paul II and creating her book. Last, but not least, Bogdan Łańko read poetry written by John Paul II.

The Museum celebrated the 40th Anniversary of John Paul II Pontificate with many eminent guests:

Father Bronisław Staworowski, Franciscan.
