Thank you for being part of the Polish Museum of America community. It is through your continued support that the PMA endures as a vibrant cultural center in Polonia. Founded in 1935, the PMA has weathered many storms over the years, and the coronavirus pandemic is no different. But it cannot be done alone. Several grant and funding opportunities have been obtained and continue to be explored. Although this has been a great source of financial support, nevertheless we again turn to you, to those who join us in our dedication to preserve and promote Polish and Polish American heritage.
After more than 85 years, the PMA remains as a truly special place. Inspired by individuals like you – the PMA continues to work tirelessly to bring you the best of its collections. Fortunately, we safely reopened to visitors this past May, and have hosted virtual events that could be viewed across the globe. Behind the scenes, dedicated staff carries on with collection care and cataloging, rediscovering unique pieces, and finding new ways to deepen our understanding of the Polish American immigrant experience. For these efforts, the PMA was recognized by the Institute of National Remembrance (Instytut Pamięci Narodowej, IPN) with the 2021 Custodian of National Memory award.
In considering our shared past, we remain steadfast in building a strong future together. We hope that you are able to support the PMA once again with a donation to the 2021 Christmas Appeal. Dziękujemy serdecznie za Państwa zaangażowanie w sprawy Muzeum Polskiego w Ameryce. To dzięki Waszemu bezustannemu wsparciu MPA jest tętniącym życiem centrum kulturalnym Polonii. Na przestrzeni lat, założone w 1935 r. muzeum stawiło czoła wielu przeciwnościom losu. I tak stanie się z pandemią koronawirusa przy Waszej pomocy. MPA otrzymało kilka grantów, które były istotnym wsparciem finansowym w 2021r., niemniej jednak Muzeum nie ustaje w poszukiwaniu nowych źródeł finansowania. Po raz kolejny zwracamy się do Państwa, którzy od lat wspomagacie naszą działalność i misję zachowania i promowania polskiego i polsko-amerykańskiego dziedzictwa.
Przez ponad 85 lat działalności MPA w dalszym ciągu pozostaje niezwykłym miejscem. Zainspirowane Państwa zaangażowaniem Muzeum Polskie kontynuuje prace nad udostępnieniem tego, co najlepsze w kolekcji. W maju ponownie otworzyliśmy muzealne podwoje zwiedzającym oraz przygotowaliśmy wirtualne imprezy, które można oglądać na całym świecie. Zespół MPA niestrudzenie opracowuje kolekcje, kataloguje, przygotowuje kolejne unikatowe materiały i eksponaty, równocześnie poszukując nowych dróg i środków, żeby pogłębić zrozumienie doświadczeń polsko-amerykańskich imigrantów. Za tę działalność MPA zostało uhonorowane przez Instytut Pamięci Narodowej (IPN) nagrodą Kustosza Pamięci Narodowej 2021.
