11 sierpnia obchodzimy w Polsce Dzień Konserwatora Zabytków. Muzeum Polskie w Ameryce/MPA jest wdzięczne konserwatorom, z którymi współpracuje za ich ogromną wiedzę, doświadczenie, oraz ostrożną i długotrwałą pracę nad przywracaniem obiektów z kolekcji do ich dawnej świetności.
Od 2019 roku Muzeum wzmogło starania konserwując do dziś ponad 100 obiektów, w tym: monumentalny witraż „Symbol Polski Odrodzonej” M. Jurgielewicza, stacje drogi krzyżowej z pierwszej polskiej osady na terenie Stanów Zjednoczonych w Panna Maria w Teksasie; plafon/mural „Gdynia Ameryka Line” w Sali Transportu, a także wiele obrazów i rzeźb z kolekcji Pawilonu Polskiego na Wystawie Światowej w Nowym Jorku (1939 r.)
Dziękując konserwatowom nie sposób pominąć tego dnia podziękowania dla sponsorów konserwacji. August 11th is celebrated in Poland as the Day of the Historic Monument Conservator. The Polish Museum of America is grateful to the conservators it collaborates with for their immense knowledge, experience, and the careful, long-term work they dedicate to restoring objects from the collection to their former glory.
Since 2019, the Museum has intensified its conservation efforts, restoring to date over 100 objects, including: the monumental stained glass window "Symbol of a Reborn Poland" by M. Jurgielewicz; the Stations of the Cross from the first Polish settlement in the United States in Panna Maria, Texas; the ceiling mural "Gdynia America Line" in the Transportation Hall, as well as many paintings and sculptures from the Polish Pavilion collection at the 1939 World's Fair in New York.
In thanking the conservators, we cannot forget to also express our gratitude to the sponsors of these conservation projects.
