Distinguished Guests at the Polish Museum of America!

On October 26, 2026, the Polish Museum of America had the pleasure of welcoming distinguished guests representing the worlds of music, academia, and the Polish community.

Among our visitors were Fr. Marek Janowski, SJ, Rector and Superior of the Jesuit community in Chicago and Rector of the Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at the Jesuit Millennium Center; Dr. hab. Sylwia Janiak-Kobylińska, conductor, violinist, and Dean of the Faculty of Conducting, Composition, and Music Theory at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk; Szymon Kobyliński, an operatic bass; and Fr. Rafał Kobyliński, SJ, a Jesuit priest and operatic tenor.

During their visit, our guests had the opportunity to explore the Museum's collections and discover the rich history, artistic achievements, and cultural heritage of the Polish community in America.

Their visit also coincided with a special occasion: the 25th anniversary of the Jesuit Millennium Center, celebrated this past Sunday, October 25! We extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the entire Jesuit community on this wonderful milestone, with gratitude for 25 years of spiritual, cultural, and community service.

We extend our heartfelt thanks for their visit, engaging conversations, and warm words of appreciation. It was a pleasure to welcome you, and we hope to see you again soon!

Sylwia Janiak-Kobylińska, dyrygentka, skrzypaczka i dziekan Wydziału Dyrygentury, Kompozycji i Teorii Muzyki Akademii Muzycznej w Gdańsku; Szymon Kobyliński, śpiewak operowy (bas); oraz o.
