Highlander Day at the Polish Museum of America!

The Polish Museum of America and the Tatra Mountain Cultural Foundation invite you to another “Highlander Day at the Museum”. During Polish Heritage Month in the United States, this special event will be held under the theme “Highlander Weddings in Chicago: Past and Present”. We will also host Beata Zalot, an author and journalist for “Tygodnik Podhalański” visiting from Poland, who will be promoting her new book, “Amerykańska Juhaska”.
The Tatra Mountain Cultural Foundation and the “Tatry” ensemble will present traditional and contemporary wedding attire as well as scenes depicting wedding customs. The program will also feature archival films of Highlander weddings in Chicago, drawn from Dr. Agata Zborowska’s “Not So Ordinary” project and private family archives.

Dzień góralski w Muzeum Polskim w Ameryce!

Muzeum Polskie w Ameryce i Fundacja Kultury Tatrzańskiej, zaprasza na kolejny „Dzień góralski w Muzeum” W miesiącu dziedzictwa polskiego w Stanach Zjednoczonych, to wyjątkowe spotkanie odbędzie się pod hasłem „Wesele góralskie w Chicago wczoraj i dziś”. Dodatkowo gościć będziemy z Polski autorkę i dziennikarkę “Tygodnika Podhalańskiego”, panią Beatę Zalot, promującą jej nową książkę „Amerykańska Juhaska”.
Fundacja Kultury Tatrzańskiej i zespół „Tatry” zaprezentują tradycyjne i współczesne stroje weselne oraz scenki obyczajowe. W programie także pokażemy archiwalne filmy z góralskich wesel w Chicago, pochodzących z projektu Not So Ordinary dr Agaty Zborowskiej oraz prywatnych archiwów rodzinnych.
