On August 13, the Polish Museum of America (PMA) was delighted to receive a remarkable donation from Janine Rychalski — a model connected with Chicago’s iconic Picasso sculpture.

Antoni Rychalski, an engineer with U.S. Steel, served as a project manager and engineer on the Picasso project. In accordance with his wishes, one copy of the model became part of the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago, while another has now found a home at the Polish Museum of America.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Janine Rychalski for entrusting this special piece of Chicago and Polish-American history to the PMA. We are also doubly delighted to welcome Janine as a Member of the Polish Museum of America!

13 sierpnia Muzeum Polskie w Ameryce (MPA) z radością przyjęło wyjątkowy dar od Janine Rychalski — model związany z jedną z ikon Chicago, słynną rzeźbą Picassa.

Antoni Rychalski, inżynier w U.S. Steel, pełnił funkcję menadżera projektu i inżyniera przy realizacji rzeźby Picassa. Zgodnie z jego życzeniem jeden egzemplarz modelu trafił do zbiorów Art Institute of Chicago, a drugi znalazł teraz swoje miejsce w Muzeum Polskim w Ameryce.

Składamy Janine Rychalski najserdeczniejsze podziękowania za powierzenie MPA tego wyjątkowego świadectwa historii Chicago i Polonii. Tym bardziej cieszymy się, że Janine dołączyła również do grona Członków Muzeum Polskiego w Ameryce!
