On August 15, the Polish Museum of America honors important occasions in Polish history and tradition. It commemorates the Battle of Warsaw of 1920, known as the “Miracle on the Vistula,” when Polish forces halted the advance of the Red Army, securing Poland’s independence and influencing the future of Europe. In honor of this victory, the date is also celebrated as Polish Armed Forces Day.

We also mark the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, one of the most important religious celebrations in Poland, deeply rooted in tradition and faith.
