On May 8, 2025, we joyfully celebrate the election of Cardinal Robert Prevost, born in Chicago, as the new Pope of the Catholic Church! As the first pope from the United States, he has chosen the name Leo XIV.

This is a historic moment for the Church and for the city of Chicago, deeply rooted in the faith and culture of its people. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Holy Father and wish him the guidance of the Holy Spirit, strength, and wisdom in leading the Church in a spirit of peace, unity, and hope.

May the pontificate of Leo XIV become a symbol of openness and dialogue in a world in need of both.

8 maja 2025 r., z wielką radością przyjęliśmy wiadomość o wyborze kardynała Roberta Prevosta, urodzonego w Chicago, na nowego papieża Kościoła katolickiego! Jako pierwszy papież pochodzący ze Stanów Zjednoczonych przyjął imię Leon XIV.

To historyczny moment dla Kościoła, ale i dla miasta Chicago, tak silnie związanego z kulturą i wiarą swoich mieszkańców. Serdecznie gratulujemy Ojcu Świętemu i życzymy mu światła Ducha Świętego, siły i mądrości w prowadzeniu Kościoła w duchu pokoju, jedności i nadziei.
