Cardinal Robert Prevost of Chicago Becomes Pope Leo XIV
On May 8, 2025, we joyfully celebrate the election of Cardinal Robert Prevost, born in Chicago, as the new Pope of the Catholic Church! As the first pope from the United States, he has chosen the name Leo XIV.
