On September 13, 2025, The Polish Museum of America had the pleasure of welcoming Apeksha Niranjan, an acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, and researcher from Mumbai. During her visit, she was guided through the Museum’s rich collections by Sergio, with particular interest in the history of Poland and the legacy of Ignacy Jan Paderewski. She spent considerable time in the Paderewski Room, exploring the life and achievements of the great statesman, pianist, and philanthropist.
Apeksha is currently in Chicago in connection with her upcoming performance Anubhava, a unique dance production that tells the story of the Polish orphans saved during World War II by the benevolent Maharaja Jam Saheb of Nawanagar. Through movement, music, and storytelling, her performance will weave together the shared history of Poland and India, continuing the legacy of cultural friendship between the two nations.
The PMA is honored to have hosted Apeksha and looks forward to the continuation of these important cultural exchanges that preserve memory and foster understanding across generations and continents.
13 września 2025 roku Muzeum Polskie w Ameryce miało zaszczyt gościć Apekshę Niranjan – uznaną tancerkę, choreografkę i badaczkę z Mumbaju, specjalizującą się w klasycznym tańcu Bharatanatyam. Podczas wizyty, oprowadzana przez Sergio, z dużym zainteresowaniem poznawała historię Polski, poświęcając szczególnie wiele czasu sali im. Ignacego Jana Paderewskiego. Fascynowała ją postać wielkiego pianisty, męża stanu i filantropa, którego dziedzictwo wciąż inspiruje kolejne pokolenia.
Apeksha przebywa w Chicago w związku ze swoim nadchodzącym spektaklem Anubhava – wyjątkowym widowiskiem tanecznym, w którym opowiada historię polskich sierot uratowanych podczas II wojny światowej przez dobrego maharadżę Jam Saheba z Nawanagaru. Poprzez ruch, muzykę i narrację artystka splata tradycje Indii i Polski, przypominając o niezwykłej więzi przyjaźni między oboma narodami.
