When André published his book in 1936, he dedicated it to the Polish Americans who had expressed so much interest in the Dal’s voyage and gave him a very warm welcome. He wrote that his book was intended not only for sailors, but to inspire a new generation of young people to discover the joys of sailing and the magnificence of the open sea, and to take up the challenge to explore the world.
