Proud to announce

We are very proud to announce that this Friday, April 30, 2021, Polish Museum of America confines hosted a very special event prepared by The Polish Consulate in Chicago.

The Polish Embassy Military attaché Gen. Cezary Wisniewski from the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Wash. D.C., on behalf of Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland - recognized three very special Polish WWII/Warsaw Uprising Heroes. They are Tadeusz Roman Gubala, nom de guerre Tabaka (b.1929 in Warsaw), Wieslaw Chodorowski (b.1929 near Katowice) and posthumously Jerzy Cercwadze-Wardisiani, nom de guerre Brawura (b.1930 in Bydgoszcz-d.2021 in USA). All three gentlemen were members of the Home Army Veterans' World Association (pol SZZAK) USA District and the Chicago Chapter of SZZAK. Mr. Gubala was past President of SZZAK USA District, as was Mr. Chodorowski. Consul Piotr Semeniuk was also recognized with a medal.
The PMA Permanent exhibit which accompanies our ceremony and tells the Warsaw 1944 Uprising story, honoring the Home Army was sponsored, in part, from Polonian funds by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago.
