World Book Day

On #WorldBookDay, UNESCO reminds us of the power books have as symbols of hope and social change.

The Polish Museum Library library was established in 1915 and features over 100,000 books in its stacks and archives. Its first curator was Miecislaus Haiman, who donated his private collection of books on Polonia and Poland.

From the collection of the PMA:
1. "Boy [Chlopiec]" - Alfons Karny, before 1939, granite
2. "Portrait of Miecislaus Haiman" - Michal Rekucki, before 1949, charcoal on paper
